DON B. WELCH PRODUCTIONS IN ASSOCIATION WITH
ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE WILL SMITH PRESENT

THE THEATRICAL STAGE PLAY "THE BACHELORETTE PARTY"

(Philadelphia, PN) - "The Bachelorette Party" IS COMING TO THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE AT THE MERRIAM THEATER. The show is slated to open on Friday June 1 and scheduled to run through Sunday, June 3, 2007 for five (5) BIG SHOWS! Show times are 8pm on Friday, 2pm and 8pm on Saturday, and 3pm and 7:30pm on Sunday.

Backed by Mega Star Will Smith (from the motion picture, "Pursuit of Happiness"), Welch's productions is a theatrical stage play that "every woman should see and every man needs to see." Groundbreaking playwright, Donald Welch has assembled a powerful cast; in fact, the players were nominated for the 2007 NAACP Best Ensemble Award. Leading the ensemble in "The Bachelorette Party" is the sexy and talented R&B superstar Ginuwine along with nine of the most talented and gorgeous women in theater today.

"The Bachelorette Party" combines the boldness of "Set It Off," the camaraderie of "Waiting to Exhale," and the comical glamour of "Girlfriends." Presenting issues such as interracial dating, domestic abuse, the "down low," rape, lesbianism, suicide, disease and ultimately MURDER, "The Bachelorette Party" thrills the audience and sends them on a real life emotional safari. Each moment is unpredictable.

Welch has created a production for any woman who has felt the need to emancipate her too often suppressed inner thoughts or for any man who wishes that he could be a "fly on the wall" when women really speak their minds. "Don Welch must have really studied 'sistahs.' I mean how else could he be so on target when it comes to how we interact? It's funny, it's emotional, it's interesting, its sensitive, its provocative and it's definitely good!" says Vanessa Bell Calloway. R&B mega star, Kenny Lattimore says, "I loved how the cast really brought to life the diversity of women's issues. The writing was very honest and I was able to experience and appreciate each emotion of every character on stage."

The cast members hail from various locations... as far south as Houston, TX, as far north as Philadelphia , PA. and as far west as Los Angeles, CA. The well seasoned company has eleven cast members that have graced the sets of many well-known theaters, blockbuster movies, and sitcoms such as " The Wire" (Nicole Pettis), "MadTV" (Keena Ferguson), "All of Us" (Tiffany Lowery) and "The Jamie Fox Show" (Kiyano LaVin). Other players such as Keith Burke (Ice Cube's "Player's Club" as well as the new motion picture " Ocean's 13"), and Kiki Haynes (Spike Lee's "Bamboozled" and "Nora's Hair Salon") spent a considerable amount of time on the big screen.

Welch's "Bachelorette Party" has surpassed other plays of similar stature by running more than 30 consecutive performances at prestigious LA theaters such as Cast Theater and LATC Theater. The play had such an impact on the LA market that it drew celebrities like Will Smith. After seeing the play, Smith felt compelled to be a part of it. Since then his company, Overbrook Entertainment, has purchased the filming rights for the play.

In the words of Loretta Devine, " The 'Bachelorette Party' is a must see!"
